Early Life and Education

Ireti Osayemi was born on January 14, 1982, in Liberia. She and her parents returned back to Nigeria during the Liberian civil war. She was raised in Lagos State and completed her education there.

Ireti continued her education at the Lagos-based Ajumoni Secondary School where she received her West African Leaving Certificate after completing her primary school education.

Later, she went to Lagos State University in Ojo, Lagos, where she majored in economics and graduated with a bachelor’s degree.

Career

In 1999, Ireti Osayemi began acting in Nollywood movies after entering the Nigerian film business.

She appeared in a film by Emeka Duru which marked her Nollywood debut, and a role in a film by Laide Bakare together with the likes of Funke Akindele, Eniola Badmus, and Odunlade Adekola, primarily marked her appearance in the Yoruba films.
