Popular radio host out after 12 years at Houston station
Alongtime Houston radio host is no longer on the air after 12 years. Local news blogger Mike McGuff confirmed Monday that Shara Fryer of 740 KTRH'sHouston's Morning News show has reportedly been laid off from the station.
After viewers questioned Fryer's status with the station following her disappearnce from the show mid-November, co-host Jimmy Barrett confirmed her exit from the station while on the air on Monday. Her departure is reportedly related to recent cuts at iHeartMedia that happened at stations nationwide, with the radio and podcasting company recently letting go of less than 5 percent of its workforce.
